'Im a free spirit with an open-mind. Finding pleasure in the simple things which keep us kind'
Sam used to work for a Chinese accessories supplier and immediately recognised the negative environmental impact and ruthlessness of consumerism encouraged from fast fashion brands. Sam felt empowered to make a change in the industry and SMBL Studio was naturally born in 2020
Sam has come from a creative background in design; hand embroidery, product and spatial design. Sam is obsessed with the meditative feeling of 'finding her flow' in the studio; similar to the feeling in Yin Yoga and other meditative practices
Sam has always been passionate about continuing traditional handcrafts in a sustainable manner and stands at the forefront of her practice. As a designer maker, Sam and her practice are constantly evolving but her ethos of producing sustainable meaningful SMBLs is unwavering
